Tijs Verwest (tiɛsto d.17 Ocak 1969,Breda, Hollanda) dünyaca ünlü trance DJ`i. 1980'lerin başında okul ve ev partileriyle profesyonel DJ'liğe başladı. 1985 ve 1993 yılları arasında Hollanda'daki gece kulüplerinde residence DJ olarak çalıştı. The Spock adlı kulüp, Tiësto için birçok şeyin şekillendiği yer oldu. Hardcore/Gabber tarzda parçalardan vazgeçerek, bu kulüpte haftasonları saat 22:00'den 04:00'e kadar kendi sound'unu biçimlendirmeye başladı.Dj Top 100 sıralamasında 2009 yılında Armin Van Buuren 'in ardından 2.sırada yer almştır.Genel olarak dünyanın gelmiş geçmiş en iyi Dj'i olarak gösterilmektedir.
